Description

The Ghibli R15 commercial coffee roaster was designed to meet the needs of artisan coffee roasting for medium volume production facilities. It features a fully professional profile and a heavy-duty design for quality roasting and reliable operation.

The Ghibli R15 commercial coffee roaster roasts continuously while cooling is done outside the drum, allowing you to roast up to 60 kg per hour. Its construction excels in its superior craftsmanship thanks to advanced CAD design and high production standards.

The Ghibli R15 commercial coffee roaster was designed to provide the latest technology, for those who really understand and appreciate quality, and for those who deserve the best. It is much more than a rotating “barrel over flames”, at Coffee-Tech Engineering, being the best is our goal.

The Ghibli R15 is a product that was designed using the most advanced product design software from start to finish. This helped us optimize parameters such as advanced thermodynamic characterization, optimal heat distribution, robust accurate drum housing (which keeps the drum spinning “in line” for life), drum proportions for an optimal ratio between conduction and convection roasting, in drum agitation (designed for perfect bean fluidization, creating greater conduction between metal and beans), chaff separation, immediate bean evacuation from the drum to the cooling group (in order to bring the roasting process to an immediate stop), and perfect heat dispersion (thanks to a well studied ceramic combustion chamber, optimally located against the drum, spreading heat equally around the drum. This is in contrast to the common open flame directly applied to the drum, heating a few distinct points at any time).

Coffee-Tech Engineering’s entire Ghibli line is equipped with the most efficient turbo gas burner. Our burner is a clean heating source, providing maximum efficiency in gas burning and minimal emissions of Carbon Monoxide. It is safe, economical and stable, with many unique parameters that allow complete control over your roast, described in detail in our user manual.

FAQs

Why do you offer different types of drums?
For several years we have conducted an extensive R&D project in which we have been investigating the impact of material, shape, volume and motion on the performance of the roasting drums we feature in our various machines. The outcome of that project is three distinctive types of drums offered for the Ghibli line, aimed at realizing three different goals with a distinctive edge for each purpose.
How come your 15 kg roaster is so small compared to others?
Everything at Coffee-Tech is designed using 3D CAD; this enables us to control, in detail, each and every aspect of the designed machine and to produce a high-tech, efficient and compact machine. Every single piece of Coffee-Tech's machines has a professional significance; we leave nothing to chance.
What is an Afterburner?
An Afterburner is a system used to eliminate (burn) smoke and odor coming from the coffee roasters’ exhaust system.
How do I know if I need an afterburner?
There is no definite answer to this question; this depends on where you are roasting and what your surroundings are. If, for example, you are roasting in a residential area, most probably you will need an afterburner (or the Avirnaki system if you are using a shop roaster). The need for an afterburner depends on many factors that vary from one country to another and sometimes even from one city to another – neighbors, local regulations, licensing etc. The best thing to do is inquire with your local authorities regarding your roasting facility plans.
What is a Destoner?
During the processing of coffee, in producing countries, various foreign materials find their way into the green coffee bags – stones, metal objects, glass and more. These objects, if not removed, can bring serious harm to equipment such as grinders. A De-Stoner is the machine that pneumatically removes these foreign objects from the roasted coffee and drops them into a sieve. Our De-Stoner also comes with a frequency inverter that allows the user to adjust the airflow according to the coffee variety or roast degree.
What kind of ducting do I need?
The most preferable configuration is a straight up duct (chimney), through the roof and free to the atmosphere. Side ducting is also possible but, if used, should follow some fundamental principles – contact us for further advice. The best material for ducting is double-walled stainless steel
