99% of the coffee industry is using drum roasters, at their roasteries. Any sample roaster or lab roaster meant to perform professional sample roasting should be using the same roasting methods as the primary roaster at that facility. This will allow the roast master to get the desired results and cup profiles as close as possible. Any other method would simply be less accurate, and non-informative when using different roasting techniques.
With the FZ94 Pro-Lab we embedded a digital speed control for the drum, and another digitally controlled motor for the venting blower. There are also three temperature controllers, measured by three individual digital probes.
